BACK AT IT.

full time wrenching, giving a hand on builds, and spreading the word to all interested.

today me and a buddy picked up his 7mgte and it went like this.

but before you read this, i want you to realize the struggle this kid went through to get this motor. about 4 weeks ago i traded my car for a 87 cressida and on the same day on the way over to get my car from my house we found Michael on the side of the freeway with his celica supra that had developed a very healty rod knock. from there his car was towed home (after fest.) and the dude was cool enough to let me borrow his steering wheel to limp my x7 home. from there he was looking everyday to find a motor that wasnt going to break his bank or require stupid amounts of work to get it running. so a couple days ago he lets me know he found a guy with a 7mgte he wanted to buy at a fair price. we get there and that fair price turned into the biggest steal ive ever seen for a 7mgte with wiring harness, ecu and automatic trans. Michael has never used a hoist before, never maneuvered an engine while in the air, and had never been to a harbor freight (spent an hour there looking around at all the goodies lol, you dont just go into a store like that and not show somebody whos never been there around..)

but Michael, you did a damn good job, hats off to you man.

Alright, i got my 7mgte today! It was the biggest pain the ass trying to get it into a pathfinder SUV!!! Plus the god damn ghetto rigged chains and clips we used to get it to work was just ridiculous!!! Then getting it out, i had a mini heart attack. The thing had to practically fall out of the freakin SUV so we could get some tension on the chains for the cherry picker. Well, now i have the engine sitting in the garage after a whole days work. Tomorrow, its time to begin the tear down and rebuild, and start taking off the r154 tranny and take off the head to replace seals and the head gasket. Once the engine is all fixed up and ready to go, it will be time to move on and take the 5mge out of the supra and the swap will commence!!!!! Thanks againGray Holloway for helping me out today. It really means alot man! I will take some pics tomorrow
